Experience Matters...More than thirty years of global experience with youth and adultsJerry began his work as a popular college speaker and musician in the 70's eventually receiving five popular music awards for his compositions. After spending time in Central America, Jerry began to focus primarily on reaching out to young people who were involved in gangs. This led him to develop his well-known mentoring program, "Significant Conversations." Word spread about Jerry's unique way of teaching young people values and faith through directed conversations with mentors and he was asked to teach others these methods. His first requests were from other detention centers in the US and then to school districts across the US and Canada. Currently Jerry divides his time between working with the incarcerated youth in his own area, teaching these skills to other counties, revitalizing school districts (public and faith-based) and offering extended church missions that focus on the Gospel mission of Christ to: "preach Good News to the poor." |
